Decentralised Resilience

No single point of failure in the routing layer. Distributed nodes reroute around outages automatically; high-availability design with per-tier SLAs.

Overview

What it
means

Traditional carrier infrastructure relies on centralised switching platforms - a single data centre outage can take down an entire network. VoicePro Plus distributes processing across multiple independent nodes that operate autonomously.

Each VPX node maintains a complete routing table and can process calls independently. If any node or link fails, traffic automatically reroutes through surviving nodes with no manual intervention, and in-progress calls are held on their existing paths.

The mesh architecture means the network gets more resilient as it grows. Every new node adds capacity and redundancy simultaneously - a fundamentally different model from centralised scaling.

Architecture

How it works

01

Node Health Monitoring

Every node broadcasts health metrics every 500ms. Peer nodes maintain real-time availability maps of the entire mesh.

02

Failure Detection

Missing heartbeats trigger failure detection within 1.5 seconds. Node marked as degraded after 2 consecutive misses.

03

Route Recalculation

Surviving nodes recalculate routing tables within 200ms, redistributing traffic load across healthy paths.

04

Traffic Rerouting

In-progress calls maintained on existing paths. New calls routed through updated topology with zero setup delay.

05

Recovery Integration

Recovered nodes rejoin the mesh automatically, gradual traffic rebalancing prevents thundering herd effects.

Capabilities

Engineered for impact

01Active-Active

Active-Active Nodes

All nodes process traffic simultaneously - no idle standby capacity waiting for a failure that may never come.

02<500ms

Failover Speed

Automatic failover completes in under 500ms, with in-progress calls held on their existing paths.

03Multi-PoP

Geographic Distribution

Nodes distributed across data centres in Frankfurt and Los Angeles with cross-connects to carrier-neutral colocation facilities in London and Paris.

04Automatic

Self-Healing

Recovered nodes rejoin the mesh automatically with gradual traffic rebalancing.

05Linear

Capacity Growth

Every new node adds both capacity and redundancy - network resilience improves as it scales.

06CAP Theorem

Partition Tolerance

Network partitions handled gracefully - each partition continues operating independently until reconnection.
