From first contact to live traffic, voice and SMS interconnects follow the same path. Use this checklist to keep your side moving.
1. Commercials and paperwork
- Complete the carrier onboarding form (voice, SMS or both) - it captures your company details, licensing and technical contacts.
- We exchange and e-sign the interconnect agreement digitally - no printing, no couriers.
- Nominate your commercial, technical and NOC contacts with 24/7 reachability for the NOC role.
2. Technical setup
- Exchange IP addresses and signalling details for your switch and ours.
- Agree codecs and capacity (sessions/CPS for voice; throughput for SMS).
- We whitelist each other's IPs and open test routes.
3. Testing
- Run test calls/messages across the agreed destinations - both directions if the interconnect is bilateral.
- Verify CLI presentation, DTMF and audio quality on voice; delivery receipts and encoding on SMS.
- Sign off test results by email so both sides have a record.
4. Go-live
- Rates load per the exchanged rate sheet (see "Exchanging rate sheets").
- Traffic opens at the agreed initial volume and grows from there.
- Billing runs per the agreement cycle, with disputes handled per "Raising a billing or CDR dispute".
Stuck at any step? Raise a ticket on the business form with your company name and the step number - it routes straight to the carrier desk.
