VPX Fraud Nodes
Distributed consensus designed to detect, validate and permanently blacklist fraudulent numbers before a second of fraudulent traffic reaches your network. In development; part of the VPX Protocol, mainnet planned Q4 2026.
What it
does
Fraud Nodes are the planned security layer of the VPX Network. They are designed to perform real-time fraud detection, consensus-based fraud validation and permanent blockchain blacklist management - so that fraud signals detected on any connected carrier's network will propagate to every other participant within 60 seconds. VoicePro's live fraud intelligence runs today through Global Insight+; the decentralised Fraud Node network is in development.
Each Fraud Node independently evaluates traffic patterns, number reputation data, IRSF signatures, Wangiri callbacks and TDoS indicators - running an AI ensemble model trained on billions of real-world telecom events. When a node detects a suspected fraud pattern, it submits a signed fraud report to VPX Protocol for consensus validation.
A fraud event is only written to the permanent blacklist when 2/3+ of active Fraud Nodes reach consensus on the validity of the report. This threshold prevents false positives and ensures no single operator can unilaterally blacklist numbers without evidence. Once confirmed, the blacklist entry is immutable - it cannot be removed without a new consensus vote with evidence of innocence.
How the node operates
Signal Detection
Fraud Nodes monitor real-time traffic patterns across their connected carriers. AI models score every number attempting to originate traffic against 47 behavioural and network features.
Fraud Report Submission
When a node's model exceeds the fraud score threshold, it generates a signed fraud report including evidence hash, number, timestamp, fraud type and confidence score - submitted to VPX Protocol.
Consensus Validation
Other Fraud Nodes independently verify the submitted evidence. 2/3+ consensus required for blacklist confirmation. Nodes that disagree submit counter-evidence; the majority position prevails.
Blockchain Write
Confirmed fraud events are written as immutable records to VPX Protocol. The record includes: number, fraud type, evidence hash, reporting nodes, consensus timestamp and blacklist status.
Network Propagation
Blacklist update propagates to all VPX Network participants within 60 seconds of blockchain confirmation. Every connected carrier and node receives the update simultaneously.
Engineered for network scale
AI Fraud Scoring
Ensemble model (gradient boosting + neural network) scoring every number at submission. 47 features including call patterns, number reputation, geographic anomalies and historical fraud signals.
IRSF Detection
International Revenue Share Fraud detection using international call pattern analysis, destination reputation scoring and real-time comparison against known IRSF number ranges.
Wangiri Blocking
Wangiri (one-ring fraud) detection using call duration analysis and callback pattern matching. Confirmed Wangiri numbers are blacklisted before callbacks can be completed.
TDoS Mitigation
Telephony Denial of Service detection via traffic volume anomaly scoring. Automatic rate limiting on high-volume originating numbers pending consensus fraud validation.
Consensus Blacklisting
No single operator can blacklist a number. 2/3+ Fraud Node consensus required. Counter-evidence process prevents false positives. Immutable record protects against fraudulent blacklisting.
<60s Propagation
Confirmed fraud blacklist updates propagate to all VPX Network participants within 60 seconds of blockchain confirmation - faster than fraud calls can spread.
Under the hood
Plug your fraud stack into the network
Fraud Node outputs - blacklist updates, fraud scores and consensus reports - are available via REST API, WebSocket subscription and SMPP pre-validation integration.
Who participates in these nodes
Carrier / Network Operator
Connect to the VPX Network to receive real-time fraud blacklist updates derived from consensus across the entire network - not just your own traffic. Stop IRSF before the first fraudulent minute is billed.
Fraud Node Operator
Operate Fraud Nodes to earn staking rewards while contributing to network-wide fraud security. Nodes with consistent accuracy earn bonus rewards. Inaccurate submissions trigger stake slashing.
Telecom Security Team
Integrate the VPX Fraud Node API into your existing fraud management system to receive consensus-validated fraud signals from across the entire VPX Network - far broader coverage than any single carrier's data.
